Lab 2.0 New Features
Making Kipu More Powerful.
Kipu’s lab interfaces allow your medical personnel to place orders for testing, process requisitions, and receive lab results directly into the patient chart, saving you countless hours and effort spent faxing, reviewing, and scanning paper reports (remember, emailing reports is a HIPAA violation). In fact, Kipu has partnered with over 90 testing labs in order to process orders and results electronically. And it’s easy. You won’t have to order a lab by logging on to another website, or importing results manually back into Kipu. Double documentation is a thing of the past. Studies have shown that all that uneccessary labor adds up fast, and averages $532.75 per patient annually.
Kipu’s powerful HL7 interface allows the facility to place lab orders, process requisitions, and receive results directly into the patients’ charts, eliminating paper. Your facility will save countless hours and effort spent handling reports externally, whether by downloading them from a portal, or scanning paper copies, and uploading them into the corresponding charts.
NEW! Test Results History
Results’ historical view is now available to all Kipu Lab 2.0 facilities. To view the results in the historical view, simply navigate to the patient’s chart, click on the “Lab Results” tab and click the “Test results history” button... Kipu will then display all results received for that patient and their outcome as sent by the lab. The user can use the advanced filter at the top of the screen to filter through all results or navigate to the individual result within a lab report by clicking the outcome.
NEW! Result Graph
The result graphs are in the results history view. To view the graph, click the arrow to the left of the test name.
Kipu labs 2.0 offers one location facility user can navigate to and see all results that have been received for their facility. There is no longer the need to navigate to each individual chart to see that patients results. This greatly saves the physician, nurse, therapist, or users that has access to this location a large amount of time when looking for a specific result. Simply navigate to the Lab Interface tab and select the Lab Reports tab. Kipu will gather all results received for your facility and display them on screen. To refine the list, use the powerful filter tool located at the top of the page.
Kipu 2.0 offers a powerful filter section at the top of the orders, requisitions, and results section. This filter can be used to find exactly what you are looking for. The simple search box located on the filter section will allow the user to search each column that is on that current page.
In the requisitions section under Lab Interface, the filter can easily be used to filter requisitions by status, the facility can easily check the requisitions that have been created and have not been sent to the lab. This is a great tool used by many facilities to confirm that all their lab requisitions have been processed for the day. Eight-Year Record Retention
You are required by law to maintain patient records (including lab orders and results) for 7 years after discharge. Kipu maintains all records for 8 years and can extend that to 16 on request (including lab orders and results).
BUT, if you are engaged in any kind of urine or blood testing without the Kipu Interface, you're depending on the lab to maintain YOUR records for you for 8 years. That sounds fine, until you consider that over 28 Urine Toxicology and or Clinical labs have closed in the past few years. Who could forget these names:, H&J Toxicology, Gimme more, Bendover Labs, Sky Toxicology.
